We have been learning about Lesotho.
The links below take you to some of the things we have learnt.

BBC

Lesotho is an independent country entirely surrounded by South Africa.  Unusually for Africa, most of the country is over 1,800 metres above sea level and it even has a ski resort.  It has a liitle under two million inhabitants, with an unemployment rate of around 45% and over 30% of the population suffers from HIV/AIDS.

Sesotho

Not everyone in Lesotho speaks English, so you may want to try your hand at the local language, Sesotho.  Everybody is very friendly and conversations start with both "Hello" and "How are you".  Elizabeth rang a call centre in Lesotho and ended up having a really pleasant chat with them.

Teyateyaneng

Our home in Lesotho is at St Agnes Mission (see the Contact Us page) just outside Teyateyaneng.

Horse Trekking

See some of Lesotho's terrain in this travel film from channel five.

Border Issues

The river appears to make a natural border between the north-west of Lesotho and its neighbour, South Africa - but appearances can be deceptive.
